What isn’t there to like about an elektroroller (motor scooter) that can be easily charged and easily afforded? In my opinion, there’s nothing not to like about it. UNU, based in Berlin, has made exactly that in a way that I’ve never seen another company do it. Basically, the 9 kilogram battery is extremely portable, and it’s not difficult to bring it inside and charge it with a wall charger. Like a cellphone, computer, or microwave. It’s amazing that this is how we can power vehicles now. Especially, if you consider that not all Municipal Power is coming from oil and gas, this solution brings us quite close to carbon neutrality. Which is something that I think most businesses should be striving for. So, when I decided that I wanted to become a software engineer recently, I met a lot of skepticism. Nobody really expected it from me, and nobody believes that I’m actually going to go to school to get my degree in engineering. For some reason that always seems like a grim reality for me, and I wanted to do something different.
